What happens in a lesson #01

What happens in a lesson?

Your singing lesson should be both enjoyable and productive.

The lesson is divided into two sections. The first part will be on developing your singing technique. The second part will focus on applying your new vocal techniques to the music you wish to learn.

Techniques covered include:
• correct standing and posture
• how to breathe correctly
• development of good tone
• developing a good sense of pitch
• increasing musical range
• dynamic control
• power development and control
• score reading for both beginners and advanced students
• improving sight singing for advanced students

These techniques can then be applied to the musical style you wish to develop to enhance your confidence, competence and individuality in performing whether as a soloist or as a singer within a group.

At the end of each lesson the student will be given individually designed exercises to be practised and developed during the week.
